श्रीभगवानुवाच | इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे | ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ||१||

śrī bhagavān uvāca idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ pravakṣyāmy anasūyave jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitaṁ yaj jñātvā mokṣyase 'śubhāt

Translation
The Supreme Lord said: To you who are free from envy, I shall now impart this most secret knowledge combined with realized wisdom, knowing which you shall be freed from the miseries of material existence.
Commentary
Krishna opens Chapter 9 by promising the 'most secret' teaching to Arjuna, qualifying the recipient as 'anasūyave' - free from envy. This sets the tone for the entire chapter as a revelation of divine intimacy available only to the devoted heart.
