vinaṅkṣyasi-you shall perish

Translation

Fixing your mind on Me, you shall overcome all difficulties by My grace. But if, out of egoism, you will not listen, you shall perish.

Commentary

Krishna presents both the promise and the warning. Shankaracharya explains that divine grace (mat-prasāda) enables the devotee to cross all obstacles of samsara. The warning against egoism (ahamkara) reminds Arjuna that refusing to follow dharma due to personal attachment leads to spiritual destruction. Madhva notes the compassionate urgency in Krishna's tone.
