Whatever is the seed of all beings, that I am, O Arjuna. There is no being, moving or unmoving, that can exist without Me.
Commentary
This verse transitions from specific vibhutis to the universal principle: Krishna is the seed (bija) - the essential cause - of all existence. Nothing can exist independently of Him. This is not pantheism but panentheism: all things exist in God, though God transcends all things. Shankaracharya explains that just as no pot can exist without clay, no being can exist without the supreme Self as its substratum.
