बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम् | बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् ||१०||

Transliteration (IAST)

bījaṁ māṁ sarvabhūtānāṁ viddhi pārtha sanātanam | buddhirbuddhimatāmasmi tejastejasvināmaham ||10||

Translation

Know Me, O Partha, as the eternal seed of all beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the splendor of the splendid.

Commentary

The metaphor of the eternal seed (sanatana bijam) establishes God as the imperishable source from which all beings spring forth repeatedly through cycles of creation. Shankaracharya explains that God is not merely the origin but the continuing sustaining principle.
