समं कायशिरोग्रीवं धारयन्नचलं स्थिरः। सम्प्रेक्ष्य नासिकाग्रं स्वं दिशश्चानवलोकयन्॥

Transliteration (IAST)

samaṁ kāya-śiro-grīvaṁ dhārayann acalaṁ sthiraḥ samprekṣya nāsikāgraṁ svaṁ diśaś cānavalokayan

Translation

Holding the body, head, and neck erect, steady and still, gazing at the tip of one's nose without looking in any other direction -

Commentary

The physical posture for meditation is described: spine erect with head and neck aligned, body motionless, and gaze fixed at the nose tip (nāsikāgra-dṛṣṭi). This dṛṣṭi technique prevents visual distraction and aids concentration.
