Sanskrit

यतेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिर्मुनिर्मोक्षपरायणः। विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः।।

Transliteration (IAST)

yatendriya-mano-buddhir munir mokṣa-parāyaṇaḥ। vigatecchā-bhaya-krodho yaḥ sadā mukta eva saḥ।।

Translation

- the sage whose senses, mind, and intellect are controlled, who is devoted to liberation, and who is free from desire, fear, and anger - such a one is forever liberated.

Commentary

Completing the meditation instruction begun in 5.27, this verse describes the inner state of the meditator. Control of the three instruments (senses, mind, intellect), single-pointed devotion to moksha, and freedom from the three disturbing emotions constitute the complete practice leading to permanent liberation.
