Translation
There are two types of created beings in this world - the divine and the demoniac. The divine has been described at length; now hear from Me about the demoniac, O Partha.
Commentary
Shankaracharya explains that this verse serves as a transition, indicating that Krishna will now elaborate on the āsurī sampad in detail. Ramanuja notes that the classification into two types is not absolute - beings exist on a spectrum, and the purpose is to help aspirants identify and cultivate divine qualities while abandoning demoniac ones.
