दैवी सम्पद्विमोक्षाय निबन्धायासुरी मता | मा शुचः सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातोऽसि पाण्डव ||५||

daivī sampad vimokṣāya nibandhāyāsurī matā | mā śucaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava ||5||

Translation
The divine nature leads to liberation, and the demoniac nature leads to bondage. Do not grieve, O Pandava, for you are born with the divine nature.
Commentary
Shankaracharya explains that Krishna reassures Arjuna to remove any doubt about his own spiritual standing. Ramanuja notes that this verse establishes the soteriological significance of the two natures - they determine one's ultimate destiny. Madhva interprets this as Krishna's grace in confirming Arjuna's inherent fitness for liberation.
