अर्जुन उवाच | मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम् | यत्त्वयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोऽयं विगतो मम ||१||

arjuna uvāca | mad-anugrahāya paramaṁ guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam | yat tvayoktaṁ vacas tena moho 'yaṁ vigato mama ||1||

Translation
Arjuna said: By the supremely confidential words concerning the Self that You have spoken out of compassion for me, this delusion of mine has been dispelled.
Commentary
Arjuna acknowledges that Krishna's teachings in the preceding chapters have removed his confusion. Shankaracharya notes that 'adhyātma-saṁjñitam' refers to the knowledge of the distinction between the Self and the non-Self. This verse serves as a bridge from the philosophical teachings of Chapters 9-10 to the direct vision that follows.
