Verse 10.13

Speaker: Arjuna

Sanskrit

आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा | असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे ||१३||

Transliteration (IAST)

āhus tvām ṛṣayaḥ sarve devarṣir nāradas tathā | asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṁ caiva bravīṣi me ||13||

Word-by-Word Meanings

āhuḥ-declare
ṛṣayaḥ-sages
devarṣiḥ-divine sage
nāradaḥ-Narada
vyāsaḥ-Vyasa
svayam-Yourself
bravīṣi-You tell

Translation

All the sages proclaim this of You, as does the divine sage Narada, as well as Asita, Devala, and Vyasa. And now You Yourself declare it to me.

Commentary

Arjuna validates his faith through multiple sources of authority - the consensus of sages, specific named authorities (Narada, Asita, Devala, Vyasa), and Krishna's own self-revelation. This threefold confirmation (śruti, smṛti, and direct experience) represents the strongest possible epistemological foundation in Vedic tradition.
