Verse 6.45

Speaker: Krishna

Sanskrit

प्रयत्नाद्यतमानस्तु योगी संशुद्धकिल्बिषः। अनेकजन्मसंसिद्धस्ततो याति परां गतिम्॥

Transliteration (IAST)

prayatnād yatamānas tu yogī saṁśuddha-kilbiṣaḥ aneka-janma-saṁsiddhas tato yāti parāṁ gatim

Word-by-Word Meanings

prayatnāt-with great effort
yatamānaḥ-striving
saṁśuddha-kilbiṣaḥ-completely purified of sins
aneka-janma-many births
saṁsiddhaḥ-perfected
parām gatim-supreme destination

Translation

The yogi who strives with great effort, purified of all sins, perfected through many births, then attains the supreme destination.

Commentary

Spiritual perfection is presented as a multi-lifetime journey. The phrase aneka-janma-saṁsiddha acknowledges that most souls require many births to reach the goal. This removes the pressure of single-lifetime achievement while encouraging persistent effort in each life.
