तत्र तं बुद्धिसंयोगं लभते पौर्वदेहिकम्। यतते च ततो भूयः संसिद्धौ कुरुनन्दन॥

Transliteration (IAST)

tatra taṁ buddhi-saṁyogaṁ labhate paurva-dehikam yatate ca tato bhūyaḥ saṁsiddhau kuru-nandana

Translation

There, one regains the spiritual consciousness from the previous life and strives again for perfection, O descendant of Kuru.

Commentary

The mechanism of spiritual continuity across lives: buddhi-saṁyoga (reconnection of intelligence) from the previous body automatically occurs. Past spiritual development is never lost - it manifests as innate inclination and accelerated progress in the new life.
