Verse 4.32

Speaker: Krishna

Sanskrit

एवं बहुविधा यज्ञा वितता ब्रह्मणो मुखे। कर्मजान्विद्धि तान्सर्वानेवं ज्ञात्वा विमोक्ष्यसे।।

Transliteration (IAST)

evaṁ bahu-vidhā yajñā vitatā brahmaṇo mukhe karmajān viddhi tān sarvān evaṁ jñātvā vimokṣyase

Word-by-Word Meanings

bahu-vidhāḥ-many kinds
yajñāḥ-sacrifices
vitatāḥ-spread/described
brahmaṇaḥ mukhe-in the mouth/teaching of the Vedas
karmajān-born of action
vimokṣyase-you shall be liberated

Translation

All these different types of sacrifice are approved by the Vedas, and all of them are born of different types of work. Knowing them as such, you shall become liberated.

Commentary

Krishna summarizes the preceding catalog by noting that all forms of sacrifice originate in karma (action) and are sanctioned by Vedic wisdom. The key insight is that understanding the principle behind sacrifice - not merely performing rituals mechanically - leads to liberation.
