अच्छेद्योऽयमदाह्योऽयमक्लेद्योऽशोष्य एव च। नित्यः सर्वगतः स्थाणुरचलोऽयं सनातनः॥

Transliteration (IAST)

acchedyo 'yam adāhyo 'yam akledyo 'śoṣya eva ca nityaḥ sarva-gataḥ sthāṇur acalo 'yaṁ sanātanaḥ

Translation

This Self is unbreakable, incombustible, cannot be wetted or dried. It is eternal, all-pervading, unchanging, immovable, and primeval.

Commentary

This verse summarizes the positive attributes of the Self after the previous verse stated what cannot affect it. The Self is characterized by permanence (nitya), omnipresence (sarva-gata), stability (sthāṇu), and eternality (sanātana). These attributes make it fundamentally different from everything in the material world.
