Word-by-Word Meanings

ॐ तत्सत्-Om, that is the truth
उपनिषत्सु-in the Upanishads
ब्रह्मविद्यायाम्-in the science of the Supreme
योगशास्त्रे-in the scripture of yoga
अर्जुनविषादयोगः-the yoga of Arjuna's dejection
प्रथमः अध्यायः-the first chapter

Translation

Thus in the Upanishads of the glorious Bhagavad Gita, in the science of the Eternal, in the scripture of Yoga, in the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, ends the first chapter entitled 'The Yoga of Arjuna's Dejection.'

Commentary

The colophon identifies the Gita as simultaneously an Upanishad (mystical teaching), Brahma-vidyā (science of the Absolute), and Yoga-śāstra (scripture of union). Calling Arjuna's despair a 'yoga' is profound - even crisis and confusion can be a path to wisdom when it leads to surrender and seeking.
