अयतिः श्रद्धयोपेतो योगाच्चलितमानसः। अप्राप्य योगसंसिद्धिं कां गतिं कृष्ण गच्छति॥

ayatiḥ śraddhayopeto yogāc calita-mānasaḥ aprāpya yoga-saṁsiddhiṁ kāṁ gatiṁ kṛṣṇa gacchati

Translation

What is the fate of one who has faith but lacks perseverance, whose mind deviates from yoga, and who fails to attain perfection in yoga, O Krishna?

Commentary

Arjuna raises a crucial practical concern: what happens to the sincere but unsuccessful yogi? This person has śraddhā (faith) but lacks sustained effort. The question reflects genuine anxiety about spiritual failure and sets up Krishna's reassuring response.
