Verse 6.21

Speaker: Krishna

Sanskrit

सुखमात्यन्तिकं यत्तद्बुद्धिग्राह्यमतीन्द्रियम्। वेत्ति यत्र न चैवायं स्थितश्चलति तत्त्वतः॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sukham ātyantikaṁ yat tad buddhi-grāhyam atīndriyam vetti yatra na caivāyaṁ sthitaś calati tattvataḥ

Word-by-Word Meanings

sukham-happiness
ātyantikam-infinite/supreme
buddhi-grāhyam-grasped by intelligence
atīndriyam-beyond the senses
sthitaḥ-established
na calati-does not move
tattvataḥ-from truth

Translation

Where one experiences that infinite happiness which is grasped by the purified intellect and is beyond the senses - established there, one never departs from the truth.

Commentary

The bliss of samādhi is described as ātyantika (limitless), buddhi-grāhya (perceived by refined intellect, not senses), and atīndriya (transcending sensory experience). Once established in this state, the yogi never falls from reality - a permanent transformation of consciousness.
