Word-by-Word Meanings

अन्तःसुखः-happy within
अन्तरारामः-rejoicing within
अन्तर्ज्योतिः-illumined within
ब्रह्मनिर्वाणम्-liberation in Brahman
ब्रह्मभूतः-having become Brahman

Translation

One whose happiness is within, whose delight is within, and whose light is within - that yogi, having become Brahman, attains liberation in Brahman.

Commentary

This verse describes the fully internalized yogi whose source of joy, recreation, and illumination are all within the Self. Such a person has already become one with Brahman and attains brahma-nirvāṇa - the peace of absorption in the Absolute. The threefold 'within' emphasizes complete self-sufficiency.
