Translation
Sanjaya said: Thus I have heard this wonderful and thrilling dialogue between Vasudeva and the great-souled Partha.
Commentary
Sanjaya begins his concluding narration to King Dhritarashtra. Shankaracharya notes that 'roma-harṣaṇam' (causing the hair to stand on end) indicates the overwhelming spiritual experience of witnessing this divine dialogue. Madhva explains that Sanjaya's testimony serves as authentication - he heard the teaching directly through Vyasa's divine gift of vision.
