brahma-sūtra-padaiḥ-by the aphorisms of the Brahma Sutras

Translation

This truth about the field and its knower has been sung by sages in many ways, in various Vedic hymns, and especially in the well-reasoned and conclusive aphorisms of the Brahma Sutras.

Commentary

Krishna validates the teaching by citing its pedigree in Vedic literature and the Brahma Sutras. Shankaracharya takes this as confirmation that the Gita's teaching aligns with Vedantic tradition. The reference to 'hetumadbhiḥ' (with reasoning) indicates that this knowledge is not mere faith but is established through logical demonstration.
