Commentary

Krishna outlines the topics He will cover: the nature of the field (body-mind complex), its transformations, its origin, the identity of the knower, and the knower's capacities. This verse serves as a table of contents for the chapter's discourse, a pedagogical technique noted by Madhva in his commentary.
