Commentary
Krishna enumerates the celestial hosts contained within His form. The Adityas, Vasus, Rudras, Ashvins, and Maruts represent the principal Vedic deities governing cosmic functions. Shankaracharya notes that 'adṛṣṭa-pūrvāṇi' emphasizes the unprecedented nature of this revelation - even the gods themselves have not witnessed this totality.
