Verse 10.3

Speaker: Krishna

Sanskrit

यो मामजमनादिं च वेत्ति लोकमहेश्वरम् | असम्मूढः स मर्त्येषु सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते ||३||

Transliteration (IAST)

yo mām ajam anādiṁ ca vetti loka-maheśvaram | asammūḍhaḥ sa martyeṣu sarva-pāpaiḥ pramucyate ||3||

Word-by-Word Meanings

ajam-unborn
anādim-without beginning
loka-maheśvaram-supreme lord of the worlds
asammūḍhaḥ-undeluded
martyeṣu-among mortals
sarva-pāpaiḥ-from all sins
pramucyate-is liberated

Translation

One who knows Me as unborn, without beginning, and the supreme Lord of all worlds - that person, undeluded among mortals, is freed from all sins.

Commentary

Knowledge of Krishna's true nature as unborn and beginningless is itself liberating. The term 'asammūḍhaḥ' (undeluded) indicates that this knowledge dispels the fundamental ignorance that binds the soul. Liberation here is presented as a natural consequence of right understanding.
