पुरोधसां च मुख्यं मां विद्धि पार्थ बृहस्पतिम् | सेनानीनामहं स्कन्दः सरसामस्मि सागरः ||२४||

Transliteration (IAST)

purodhasāṁ ca mukhyaṁ māṁ viddhi pārtha bṛhaspatim | senānīnām ahaṁ skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ ||24||

Translation

Of priests, O Partha, know Me to be the chief, Brihaspati. Of military commanders I am Skanda; and of bodies of water I am the ocean.

Commentary

Brihaspati represents divine wisdom in priestly function, Skanda (Kartikeya) embodies martial excellence, and the ocean represents the vastness and depth of all waters. Each vibhūti points to the supreme within its category, training the devotee to see God in excellence wherever it appears.
