तत्रापश्यत्स्थितान्पार्थः पितॄनथ पितामहान् | आचार्यान्मातुलान्भ्रातॄन्पुत्रान्पौत्रान्सखींस्तथा ||२६||

Translation

Commentary

This verse marks the turning point. Arjuna now sees not an enemy army but a web of relationships - every category of human bond is represented. The systematic listing (fathers, grandfathers, teachers, uncles, brothers, sons, friends) emphasizes the totality of his social world arrayed against him.
