Verse 9.27

Speaker: Krishna

Sanskrit

यत्करोषि यदश्नासि यज्जुहोषि ददासि यत् | यत्तपस्यसि कौन्तेय तत्कुरुष्व मदर्पणम् ||२७||

Transliteration (IAST)

yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam

Word-by-Word Meanings

yat-whatever
karoṣi-you do
aśnāsi-you eat
juhoṣi-you offer in sacrifice
dadāsi-you give
tapasyasi-you practice as austerity
mad-arpaṇam-as an offering to Me

Translation

Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in sacrifice, whatever you give, whatever austerity you practice - do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering to Me.

Commentary

Krishna extends the principle of 9.26 to all of life. Not just formal worship but every action - eating, giving, practicing austerity - can become a divine offering. This transforms the entirety of daily life into worship, eliminating the sacred-secular divide. It is the practical application of karma yoga through bhakti.
