त एते ऽवस्थिता युद्धे प्राणांस्त्यक्त्वा धनानि च | आचार्याः पितरः पुत्रास्तथैव च पितामहाः ||३३||

ta ete'vasthitā yuddhe prāṇāṁstyaktvā dhanāni ca | ācāryāḥ pitaraḥ putrāstathaiva ca pitāmahāḥ ||33||

Translation

Teachers, fathers, sons, and also grandfathers, maternal uncles, fathers-in-law, grandsons, brothers-in-law, and other relatives - they stand here in battle, ready to give up their lives and wealth.

Commentary

Arjuna repeats the enumeration of relationships, this time emphasizing that these people are willing to die. The repetition reveals his obsessive focus on the human cost. Each relationship named is a bond that war will sever, making the violence feel like self-destruction.
