स तया श्रद्धया युक्तस्तस्याराधनमीहते | लभते च ततः कामान्मयैव विहितान्हि तान् ||२२||

Transliteration (IAST)

sa tayā śraddhayā yuktastasyārādhanamīhate | labhate ca tataḥ kāmānmayaiva vihitānhi tān ||22||

Translation

Endowed with that faith, he engages in the worship of that form and obtains his desires, which are indeed granted by Me alone.

Commentary

The fruits obtained through worship of any deity are ultimately dispensed by the Supreme Lord. This establishes a theological hierarchy without dismissing other forms of worship. Shankaracharya notes that the worshipper may not know the true source of the blessings received.
